
Military History Festival set June 20 in VoloBy EL CONQUISTADORVOLO – The sixth annual Father’s Day Military History Festival is for June 20 at the Volo Auto Museum. The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and feature family-friendly World War II battlefield re-enactments, a cookout and guided tours from museum curator Tim Davis. In addition, children and adults will have the chance to try on original military uniforms. A variety of vendors will be set up around the museum’s 10-acre show grounds selling military artifacts and memorabilia. Liz Johnson, assistant director of the museum, said the event had grown steadily during the past five years. This year, they are expecting more than 1,000 attendees. Admission to the event costs $13 for adults, $11 for seniors and $6 for children. Those who arrive in a military vehicle will receive free admission and lunch. Attendees in military uniforms will get in free. |
